How Broc works

Block the apps that pull you in. Do a real habit. Earn the scroll. Here's the whole machine, including the parts most apps gloss over.

The loop

Block

Pick any apps on your phone: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, games, browsers. Opening one shows Broc's wall: the badger, your habit list, and what each habit earns.

Do the habit

Set anything concrete: read 10 pages, work out, meditate, tidy up. Reorder them, group them by category, give each its own reward size.

Prove it (your choice per habit)

Photo: snap the open book or the gym and Broc's AI checks it matches. Timer: the minutes count while you stay in the app and pause if you leave. Or honesty mode with no proof at all.

Earn and spend

Completed habits unlock screen time. Spend it; when it's gone the wall returns until the next habit. Streaks and a four-week grid track every day you follow through.

The two unlock modes

Per habit is the daily driver: each finished habit opens a timed window (you set the size per habit; the workout can pay more than the dishes). All habits first is strict mode: nothing on the block list opens until the entire day's list is cleared. Exam weeks, training blocks, mornings: see the morning setup.

Time itself can run as a window (a countdown that starts when you unlock) or a budget (a pool you spend across the day, pausing when you leave the app). Window is simpler; budget is fairer if you scroll in short bursts.

Verification, honestly explained

The tap-the-box lie is how most habit apps die, so Broc closes it. Photo verification sends your snap through an AI check: does this look like an open book, a gym, a made bed? It sees the photo you chose to take, checks it, and doesn't build a gallery of your life; details in the verification guide. Timer verification is simpler: the countdown runs while Broc stays open, pauses when you leave. Both exist so the unlock means something.
